msvc versus mingw benchmarks
MSVC average time is show on right, MINGW on left. Both tests were run in an identically configured Virtual Machine. 1 model (for Eugenia uniflora 'Pitanga') was run for each available algorithm. In all cases default alg params were used. Both versions were compiled in release mode and no other applications were open during the running of the experiment.
Note that in some cases (e.g. GARP BS, models are non deterministic and so run times could vary with each model run).
Result:
MSVC compiled openModeller consistently produces results more quickly than the equivalent under MINGW.
