looking SW - Kitchen - Stan Hywet - 2014-11-25
Looking southwest across the Kitchen at Stan Hywet ("Stan Hewitt"), the 1915 Gilded Age manor house built by Frank A. Seiberling in Akron, Ohio.
The door to the left leads out into the central hallway. Behind it (obscured by the open door) is a door leading to the Butler's Pantry. The open service portal allowed hot food to be passed to the Butler's Pantry without opening the door. (There, the food was placed on serving trays and plates before being moved into the Dining Room.)
The central island in this room contains steam-heated warming ovens, whose doors are visible here.
