Emma

It's been a while since I saw Emma, so when I passed by the Antiquarian book shop where she works at, I stepped in to say hello.

We had a lot to catch up with. I was pleased to hear that all has been pretty positive, despite COVID-19.

The only sad news was that the lovely 84 y/o Pipsa, who used to part-time work with Emma, has been taken ill.

I remember making a portrait of Pipsa a few years ago which she liked so much and wished it would be used for her obituary.

I didn't know that she had mentioned that to Emma, too, but Emma recalled it very specifically.

Before I left, Emma gifted me with a jar of honey from the pile she had on her desk.

"Every fall, one of our customers brings us several jars which we share with our friends," Emma said.

What a delightful thing to do!

As soon as I got home I had to taste the honey and it was thick and delicious.

Thank you, Emma.

My thoughts are with Pipsa now. I pray for her recovery.
