Brianna - Stranger # 973 / 1000

As soon as I saw her, leaning on the sidewalk rail, holding a cup of coffee in her hand and a cigarette, I knew she'd be my next Stranger.

I loved her flower beanie hat and blond locks framing so beautifully her lovely face.

Brianna was friendly and immediately agreed to pose for me while she was waiting for an out-of-town friend.

Brianna is originally from Alaska. A globetrotter, she had just spent a year in New Zealand.

"I just got done teaching preschool in Wanaka, New Zealand to traveling SE Asia, Australia and Fiji, " she says.

"Currently I am nannying, saving money to go on my next adventure. So when I say my struggle is being still I mean that in a variety of ways.

"Change is so attractive to me, traveling, and experiencing life that you never knew was possible, is the only way I can live now. It is both a blessing and a burden.

"I was watching random acts of human compassion today, and it was so great to see us, humans, come together of all different circumstances. It reminded me of one of my favourite quotes: "In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

"My message to the world? Live. It is rare, but really live.

Crave the air on mountains tops, be the depth that the ocean holds, keep the flow of the rivers, hug and grow wherever you go. Understand that compassion is passed on starting with you, and feel the grit of the earth everyday, but in the end, it is all not that serious.

"Love. Everything is always love. Feel it, show it.

"My biggest struggle? Being still."
