Aurora borealis

Spaceweather.com predicted a quiet night - low solar activity, no aurora. The time was too early in the night (before 10) and in the year (just tonight, 18 Sep.). This is what I've got anyway.

I took a whole series of shots with Sony NEX-7 with the 16 mm Pancake. ISO between 1600 and 3200, f/2.8. 3"-5". The lens is terrible (halos and "tails" around stars), and the NEX-7 reveals much more noise at ISO 3200 as some reviews claim (the Fuji X100 is way better!), but nevertheless it could have come a lot worse. A colleague was struggling hard with his Nikon 700 to get shots as good as the NEX-7, which surprised me.
