2019 - South Korea - Busan - 33 - Port Ferry

Waiting for the Westerdam to undock at the Port of Busan, there was not much to do but watch the port ferry ferry boats coming and going. So four shots of the port ferry traffic.

Tsushima is an island in the Tsushima Strait (the eastern channel of the Korea Strait), about 50 km from Korea and 130 km north of Fukuoka, Japan.

South Koreans are a a great contribution to Tsushima island economy. The number of Korean tourists to the island increased greatly after the launching of a high-speed ferry service from Busan to the island in 1999.

Japan and South Korea have a long standing dispute as to the ownership of the Tsushima Island. Today, the island is recognized as Japanese.
