Ah the Hocking River, exhibiting the ongoing unsightliness of the rerouting and channelization inflicted upon it by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers circa 50 years prior.

Yea from 1969 to 1971 the river was moved from elsewhere to this place. Ugh it is ugly!

 

Here, look at this ridiculous promotional brochure from 1972 wherein the Army Corps of Engineers declares that "this reach of the Hocking is becoming perhaps its most attractive." The emperor's new clothes!
