Preveza (1)
Vrachati is a coatal town along the bay of Corinth. We made a stop there to have a drink and to buy some food for lunch. There was an empty beach with no people but nice flowers and lots of dogs. Severa trendy l beach clubs were waiting for the tourist season to start. The trees were full of fruit: oranges, lemon, prunes etc. The owner of a bakery let us try a special kind of local cooky (or was it sweet dried bread). To mkae it even tastier, he gave us wine and we had to the bread soak the wine. In the next town, Sykiona, we made a picnick on another empty beach. Back on the highway, I was glad that I did not drive. The highway had the beautiful name "Nea Ethniki Odos Athinon Patron" but it was actually too small to call it a highway. There were two normal tracks and two half trakcs. Cars were crossing the middle line to pass trucks while other cars were doing the same from the other direction. I became pretty scared and got a discussion with Jeroen, who tried to adopt the Greek style of driving. I was glad when we crossed the beautiful Rion Antirion Bridge. After Amfilochia we drove along the beautiful South coast to the tunnel of Preveza. In Preveza we could not fined the campsite that what indicated in our campsite quide. We did find a hotel with the same name and decided to stay there for the night, as it started to rain. The hotel had a kitchen in the room, so we could cook our own frech dinner. The next morning I enjoyed the luxury swimming pool while Jeroen and Eva relaxed in their comfortable beds.
