In November, Eva had a party with her school class from Zutphen. Her mother Mieke was busy and her friend Emily wanted to stay over for the night, so that they could both come back late from the party. Eva asked me to come to the East of the country to bring them to the party and pick them up again at about midnight. So I did. It was strange to sleep in Mieke (my ex-wife)'s house.
The next day I went to Deventer with Eva, to visit Michael. He is one of my best friends. After visiting him and chatting most of the afternoon, we made a walk with our dog Zora along the river IJssel. A nature reserve has been made along the river, with wetlands and wild cows. The next day we made another nice autumn walk, in the forest between Brummen and Eerbeek. The colours of the trees were quite spectacular.
When I picked up the girls from the party in the middle of the night, I realized that Eva is becoming a beautiful girl. She is very self-confident and flirts with boys. She has good friends, both in Zutphen at her school and in The Hague. She knows more about fashion and contemporary music than me. Recently she spend half of the day downloading music for her i-pod. And she organized a meeting for her friends in The Hague, they met in a alcohol-free bar in the city centre and went shopping in town together.
