Making a splash

Trying to isolate single birds as they made their run across the pond to take off wasn`t easy and you had to wait until the vast majority of birds had already left for the day. This Sandhill Crane shows the classic position as they run a short distance before leaving the ponds to venture to the nearby fields for the days feeding.
