The Fitz Roy Massif

The glow of sunset backlights the iconic Fitz Roy Massif, a range of peaks and needles located in the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, near El Chaltén village and Viedma Lake in Argentina. This range is named after Robert Fitz Roy, the English astronomer and sailor who captained the HMS Beagle, the ship that brought Charles Darwin to Patagonia in the 1830s.
