Adorned Rakes

These are heavily adorned rakes for the Tori no Ichi festival.

 

They are actually quite expensive--a large one can easily cost over 10万円 ($1000).

 

When a customer buys a large one, the store owners (and other passerbys) clap their hands loudly.

 

The one I got was small :-)
