Wasp on a Mission

An European beewolf (Philanthus triangulum) just caught a bee and flies it to its underground chamber, to serve as food for the wasp larvae.

This shot was taken in Greece.

We were at the beach...of course with the intention to quietly lay down there.

Maybe take a little swim, just relax and do nothing...

But then I saw these beautiful dunes, full of plants and full of insects....

So I grabbed my cam and climbed my way up there....to find out these plants all had huge thorns and there were loads of aggressive wasps flying around there....

If you could only have seen me there, running through the stingy bushes, chased by wasps, almost falling from the cliff......I love insects, but at that time I deeply hated wasps.....and after a few photos I was forced to go back....:(
