i don't get up at 5.30am for just anybody
my sister and her family flew out to bali on sunday. my oldest niece, krysty, had things to do, so she flew out yesterday morning to join them. she had two hours to kill in sydney so mum said she'd go along to the airport and spend some time with her (and to collect the bananas my sister had bought for mum - $5kg up north compared to $13-14kg here in sydney). i'm on holidays so i decided to join them. big mistake!
mum was up at 4.30am to get the train/bus to my place. i got up at 5.30am to be ready to meet mum downstairs and get the 6.50am bus to the airport to be there at 7.30am (when krysty should have landed and been transferred to the international terminal).
krysty and my other niece's friend came down to sydney from coolangatta and because they did the immigration / check in thing there, when they transferred from the domestic flight to the international terminal in sydney, it was done internally - meaning they were already inside the customs vacuum so could not come back out to the real world... i did question this with my mum on monday night but she assured me that my sister had assured her it would all be ok.
musn't grumble - i like going to the airport and watching the people come and go :)
