ANOTHER STORY:

Tangle, looking extremely embarrassed by her brother's wolfish behaviour, is our youngest dog and a really tiny whippet. She is a very very soft dog and is frequently scared by things only she can see. Once she was running on the beach and yelped. Nothing happened that I could see, no dog was near her, she didn't hurt herself, but she was trembling and for weeks after that I had to keep her on leash just to make sure she wouldn't run back to the car from the beach.

 

The one place she's never been afraid is the woods - and here she is (the fussiest little whippet) on a freezing cold day waiting for me on one of the fields that we stop at during our hike. She frequently rolls in horrid smelling puddles and is thickly covered from toe to head with slimy muck. Luckily whippets clean up quickly, but I've had to stand in freezing cold streams, trying to clean her up enough to get her in the car for the drive home.
