Eta-2 Actis-class Light Interceptor (Yellow)
~instructions available via Brickvault ~
This was a tough one to get right!
I considered making a brick-built cockpit but the printed LEGO canopy has an iconic nostalgic quality so I felt that I just had to use them. The hexagonal flags have the same intangible quality about them, so I used those too.
However, there’s a bit of an issue with these elements in that they are slightly out of scale with each other: the flags should be a stud or so larger to match the cockpit. So, the proportions ended up being slightly skewed, but I think it coveys the spirit of the source material.
Like my LAAT, I had some fun with angles here too. I didn’t realize that there was such a large difference between the 2x2 wedge plate and a cheese slope, which made things a bit complicated.
