Hoverfly - Eristalis sp.
Taken back at the end of April (25th) this year 2018 in my garden on honeysuckle leaves.
I think this is probably E.pertinax.
I always think to those of us with a penchant for insect photography that these eristalis hoverflies are as trustworthy for a shot as our dear old robin is to those preferring birds.
I like this species anyway but they are invaluable as subject matter to get back into ' macro mode ' after winters lean period and they are normally very obliging as long as you approach carefully and not startle them.
The image will enlarge slightly.
