Joining the Congress
A Blue Line train from 54/Cermak heads down the ramp here into the open-cut expressway median Congress Line, joining with its sister branch from the West Side to head into the subway downtown, and out to O'Hare.
This service will soon be rush-only, as the Cermak branch will be used by the new Pink Line routing starting at the end of June.
This was initially the "Congress Expressway," but is now known as the Eisenhower Expressway through the City of Chicago, and is a major part of I-290.
