A sprouting Black Eyed Susan..growing wildly on the side of the road..I have always enjoyed these flowers in bloom but there is something quite special and magnificent about them at this stage of growth..Full of life..new life..and the colors are so muted yet bold..I love how the center of the bloom is already quite significant in size in comparison to the petals which are really only about one quarter of their full bloom size..

 

This shot looks as if the budding petals are consuming the center..devouring it..
