Pink and white polka dot felt baby booties
OK..so this is something completely new for me but you all know how crazy I am for felt! I happened upon some really thick pink felt with a fur-like finish on the front..very deep and plush and feels like velvet. I thought that it would feel so good on the feet. I found a free pattern for baby booties on Martha Stewart so I decided to elaborate on that..can't leave anything alone!
I cut these from two layers of different felt and added a third to the soles of the booties for added strength and comfort. I sewed in Velcro for the ankle closures and added a button for a faux closure effect. I have some gorgeous hot pink silk ribbon cut into long lengths and sealed on the ends. I added a loop on the heel back to hold the ribbon and also so it can be removed if you don't want to always use th ribbon. Some of the booties were machine sewn but most was hand sewn and a blanket stitch from embroidery floss was created around opening. I then created two soft blue felt roses with a metallic light pink bead center and sewed them to the toes of booties.. I think they are adorable and wished they fit me. They are approx. 5" L X 2 3/4-3" wide and 2 1/2" High..they will fit 12-18 mos.
