General Election 2011: Timmy Dooley, Fianna Fáil (Clare)
Ireland goes to the polls on 25th February to elect a new Dáil Eireann. In the Republic of Ireland, Members of Parliament are called Teachta Dála (or TD for short) and 165 deputies are elected by proportional representation using a single transferable vote in multi-seat constituencies.
Timmy Dooley is a Fianna Fáil candidate and a sitting TD. Fianna Fáil are the majority party in the outgoing coalition Government.
27/02/2010: Timmy Dooley held on to his seat in Clare. His party Fianna Fáil suffered badly as the people took their revenge on the government for destroying the economy.
