Brackets installed.
This is the full view that gives you an idea. The bulkhead is for heating ducts. Trust me we know. ;) The clearance between the bottom of the bulkhead and the top of the door trim is too narrow for the brackets.
We entertained the idea of cutting into the trim to fit the bracket but.. in the end cooler heads (the wife) prevailed and we just installed the brackets on either side of the trim.
Otherwise you'd have seen me happily going to Home Depot and buying a Dremel.
