Last bit of excitement for the night was the departure of 1Q45 21:00 Crewe C.S. (L&Nwr Site) to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail), which took a long way round to get to Derby, going via the Mid-Cheshire line to Stockport, then over to Buxton, a reversal to get to Manchester Piccadilly, back down to Crewe, another visit to Stockport to be able to access the Hope Valley line to Sheffield, and the final leg down to Derby. This called in briefly at platform 5 in Crewe to collect the Network Rail crew for the recording coaches.
