My Dad is a doctor and has an X-ray machine so one thing led to another and we started x-raying stuff around the office. these shells made pretty excellent specimens.
An X-ray machine uses pretty much standard 8x10 black and white sheet film. so you can just take the resultant x-ray transparency and contact print it or scan it if you have a big enough slide scanner.
