Victim Advocate Certificates Awarded

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. –Maj. Gen. Gary W. Keefe, the Adjutant General of the Massachusetts National Guard, presented seven servicemembers with certificates verifying their certification as Victim Advocates for the Massachusetts National Guard, during a presentation at Joint Forces Headquarters, Jan. 31, 2017.

The Victim Advocates serve on a completely volunteer basis in addition to their regularly assigned duties. The screening process to become a VA is highly selective and stringent. If they meet all the criteria which include background checks, they then must complete an 80-hour resident SHARP course, and continue to maintain training with a biennial requirement of 32 hours of continuing education.

Sgt. 1st Class Vanessa Robinson-Jones, JFHQ

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lacey St. Jean, HHD 51st TC
