Northern scorpion, Paruroctonus boreus, the only scorpion found in Montana (and found as far north as British Columbia and Alberta). This photo shows the pinchy bits and the bitey bits, but not the sting-y bit. It would probably hurt to be stung, but the venom of this species isn't considered medically significant unless you're allergic. Anyway, they aren't aggressive and just want to live their best life, sleeping all day and hunting bugs at night. Pryor Mountains, Montana.
