Chidambaram

Chidambaram is "THE Temple" for Shaivites around the world. Lord Shiva is worshipped in his dancing form as Nataraja in this temple. The vimana over the sanctum sanctorum is covered in gold as commissioned by the great Parantaka Veeranarayana Chola I from the 10th century.
