Join me for a landscape and post-processing workshop in Iceland, Sept 2014.
This is Kirkjufell mountain and nearby waterfall, Kirkjufellsfoss, found on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Western Iceland. I've wanted to get this shot (and similar) for ages, but during my winter trip the weather was really bad and we couldn't make it to this point. Luckily, in the summer, the conditions are much more hospitable and I could spend a bit of time investigating the area.
This is about 6 shots manually blended together, using luminosity masking and selective saturanus overlays. There were a few exposures to capture the sky and mountain, plus a long exposure for the waterfall and water. I've kept this processing somewhat moody and slightly more fine art. I have plenty more from this location, so expect some other images soon!
