Sit back and relax and take in the last year of my photography:

I started my photography in January 2011, so I figured it might be nice (even just for myself) to look back upon my first year as a photographer and see how far I've come, if any. The clip is only 7 mins long, although took me a few days to edit and 11 months to get the material! If you get the chance, please watch it through. It has some fantastic music provided to me by two friends of mine: Beccy Owen from Sharks Took The Rest and Kristof Toth from Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra. I chose them as they are hugely talented and two of my favourite artists.
It's fitting that my last post of 2011 and of my first photographic year is my home city, Belfast. Save for Bled Castle, Prague Castle and Buda Castle, I haven't taken many shots of castles, especially living in Europe. Sadly there aren't that many castles in London (the Tower of London is hard to capture well), although we do have a lovely Temple.
Belfast Castle sits on Cavehill overlooking the lough and was built by the Normans in the late 12th Century. The building was presented to the City of Belfast in 1934 by the 9th Earl of Shaftesbury and is now a popular location for weddings and the suchlike. As usual, this looks better in the lightbox!
I hope you all had a good 2011 and I wish you all the best for 2012!
