I'm back from my trip around the northern Balkans and I have to say the landscape is fantastic! Some amazing places. Thanks to everyone who recommended Lake Bled to me! One of the best things about sunrises is that they can often be quite misty. Add in a castle and a lake and you've got yourself a fantastic scene! All you need to do now is find a castle by a lake and get up for sunrise. That's exactly what I did.

The Slovene people are so nice and friendly. I got nothing but help and kindness from them. Someone told me that Slovenia has a large number of the world's terrains in one country and I can well believe it. This is up in the north amongst the Julian Alps. Lake Bled is a glacial lake and contains the country's only natural island. Overlooking the water is Bled Castle, perched atop this ominous cliff. It is said to be their oldest castle and was first mentioned in 1011.

I will try and catch up on your photos as best I can. I have also done an on location video of this shoot and if I can edit it properly, I shall post up for you.

This shot looks way more cool when viewed in the lightbox.
