Shepherd, dogs and flock, Le Puy-de-Dôme (1966)

On his back, the shepherd carries a satchel, slung over his left shoulder. In his right hand, he holds a long, round staff (crook?). The upper part of this, painted red, comprises a spherical knob, from which protrudes backwards a short length of stick, at a very acute angle. The lower end of the main staff is painted black, and may perhaps have a pointed tip.
