The Rival: Part 3
Tending to The Rival's goons in record time, Jay sped into the vault only to find the gang's leader himself loading another sack full of money. The Rival's eyes snapped onto Garrick's and he scowled. "Flash! Why I never thought I'd see the likes of you again!" The Rival said angrily.
"That's where you're wrong, ol'chum!" Jay cocked a smile, "Your chemical gasses may have slowed my body, but my mind was still racing!” While he spoke, Garrick subtly examined the room at top speeds looking for a way to outwit his opponent.
“Curses! My Hard-Water formula was a perfect opposite to your speed-equation! It had taken me years to develop it!” The Rival quaffed, shaking a fist in the air.
“I have a hunch you'll find plenty of time to work out those kinks behind bars!” Flash adjusted his helmet and dug in his heels....
"We'll see if you can still race when I'm done with you!" The Rival shouted and took a swift step forward. But The Flash was too fast! "Not if this simple right-cross has anything to say about it!" Jay challenged, faster than a speeding bullet, he put his foot behind Rival's, and threw his fist so fast that it knocked Rival clean off his feet and into a pile of freshly printed bills!

History time!
The first appearance of The Rival was back in February of 1949 [Flash Comics #104]! The original story, to which this comic set was based, follows Jay Garrick investigating a kidnapping by some Super-Speed gangsters, leading him to be captured by The Rival. A nemesis of sorts wearing a costume like Jay's for no discernible reason. Now I won't spoil it because it's actually not too bad, and I recommend you read it :)
Apart from that, The Rival has only appeared in a few issues of Geoff Johns' JSA, and has only made a few cameos here and there throughout the years. He's a surprisingly under used character in the Flash-Mythos, and I was honestly shocked to find out Christo was making one, because like, who the heck actually knows who this is besides like me, Catanas, and maybe Levi :P
Suffice to say, I'm really glad I managed to pick this fig up. (I'm still pretty bitter about missing his First Appearance Batman tho... Grr)
Anyway, the final chapter is out tomorrow! :)
