Too Many Speedsters!
Oh man you guys have no idea how excited I was to find out that Christo was continuing his Flash figures! Plus from some reliable sources, I have heard that we'll be seeing The Dark Flash (Wally West's Clone) plus Jay Garrick as well! I'm super excited to expand to those figs as soon as they hit his internet shelves :P
I'm always impressed with Christo's new releases, but the two new Lantern Flashes have just blown my mind! Now as some of the other reviews of the Lantern figs from Adam over at Phoenix Brickshad mentioned, these figures look incredible in natural lighting! The belts and helmet-wings (plus the white lantern's boots) are all reflective!
Now with a bit of help from a Friend/ Lego Coworker, he enlightened me to the process of how Christo (supossedly) made the elements of the figures reflective. Now I don't know his process personally, but what I assume that the process he uses is called Vacuum Metallizing. Here is a few links to some info about it and a few places that produce "Chrome Elements":
Youtube Practical Stuff: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMurtKVUm3I
Model Cars/Commissions: www.chrometechusa.com/model-cars-and-collectibles.html
Custom Lego: www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ChromeBricks
But it's a very intense and cool process! I've got to hand it to Christo for going all out with these figs and putting the amount of time and effort into them for us collectors to enjoy :)
I've heard a lot of folks complain about the price-point but taken into consideration the work that goes into these figs, these are a pretty decent value.
Anyway, I know everybody has they're own opinions but I'm very pleased with the quality and extremely glad to own these five :)
