Fire Breathing Fortress
Fire Breathing Fortress - a collaborative LEGO MOC by myself (@ctperron) and Wes Talbott (@wes_talbott), a reimagining of the iconic Dragon Masters castle (6082) from 1993. We had the idea for this build immediately after Skærbæk Fan Weekend last year, and finished just in time for this year’s show! Come check it out in person, Sept 28-29th!
We had a lot of fun with this model, taking the main layout of the original set and then translating that into a larger and more modernized design language. Then we worked on building each tower, doorway, roof, and all of the little details to fit the aesthetic to make it all come together.
The crank at the top is powered by two hard working minifigures that raises and lowers the big gate inside the dragon mouth cave, giving access to the hatchery and blacksmith inside. The village below is bringing up their daily delivery of meat, to feed the hungry dragons (& knights) in exchange for their protection. Majisto overlooks the landscape from his tower, while his apprentices study in the hall below. No one seems to notice a few spies sneaking around in the rocks… yet!
Shoutout to @elden_bricks for the idea of using the Ninjago dragon hilt with the Viking axe to make a dragon-halberd. We loved that build and used a similar weapon for a lot of our knights!
