1214 Fake rooftop courtyard as seen from WeWork in Dallas
December 14
I drove to VideoTex in Dallas today to pick up a loaner Panasonic EVA1. The guys there were all really nice. They even threw in a Canon 85mm cine lens! I went straight from there to BuzzShift. Eddy gave me the grand tour of their new office–also in a DIFFERENT WeWork building. The whole team seems way happier now that they’ve gotten a little jump start again. One of the weirdest parts of the tour was this rooftop courtyard, which is actually completely fake. Apparently, people in the adjacent buildings complained about having to look out at a gross rooftop, so they built this fake courtyard that nobody can even access. So weird.
Back in Denton, Ranjani and I did a little recon at the DIME Store. She’d never been, and I wanted to check out their setup for lighting across the ceiling. They have little bent-up paperclips in the ceiling tiles that they use to hang holiday lights. It looks good! We should definitely do that in the café.
The FCC repealed Net Neutrality today like a big bunch douchebags.
