Würzburg, Bahnhofplatz 29.09.2023

Würzburger Straßenbahn GmbH (WSB): the tram number 244 arrives at the Hauptbahnhof stop, serving line 1 to Sanderau. It is the only one that preserves the old colors of the Würzburg tram network.

Six trams of the Duewag-Gelenkwagen type, with three sections and high floor, are still in service on the Würzburg network. They are numbers 236, 238 and 243 to 246. Duewag manufactured two series of this model for Würzburg: ten of the GTW-D6 type, with two sections (from 231 to 233 in 1967 and from 234 to 240 in 1968) and another eight of the type GTW-D8, with three sections (241 to 248 in 1975). In 1982, a third section was added to the first ten, thus unifying the 18 vehicles to the GTW-D8 type.

These trams will be taken out of service between 2024 and 2025, when HeiterBlick delivers the 18 new vehicles it is currently manufacturing.
