Nancy, Rue Saint-Jean 13.02.2019

Service de transport de l'agglomération nancéienne (Stan, operated by Keolis Grand Nancy): in the city of Nancy, in addition to an extensive bus network, there is a guided trolleybus line of the Bombardier TVR type. This system uses a central guidance rail, with retractable trucks on the vehicles. Implemented only in two French cities (Caen and Nancy), several technical problems have limited their development. In fact, Caen suppressed its TVR line in 2017.

The Nancy line has a length of 11.3 km, although only 60% of the route uses the central guidance rail (between Gérard Barrois and Callot, and in both terms). In the remaining 40%, the vehicles run as conventional trolleybuses guided by the driver. It was inaugurated on January 28, 2001, and is scheduled to be replaced by a tram, as is already being done in Caen.

The fleet for this line consists of 25 double articulated trolleybuses of 24.5 meters (numbers 1 to 25), with Alstom electrical equipment and a diesel engine to continue circulating in the absence of power, or to access the garages.

Here we see the trolleybus number 22 in the Point Central stop, working a service in the line 1 to Essey, Mouzimpré.
