Rigi Bahnen AG (RB): this company operates two standard gauge rack railways. One line links the SBB station of Arth-Goldau with the summit of Rigi, with a length of 8.5 km. It was built by the company Arth-Rigi-Bahn (ARB) and was put into service on June 4, 1875. The other line links the lake pier of the Four Cantons in Vitznau with the summit of Rigi, with a length of 6.8 km. It was built by the company Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn (VRB) and was put into service on 21 May 1871 to Rigi Staffelhöhe, and on 27 June 1873 to the summit of Rigi, being the first rack railway line in Europe. Both lines use the Riggenbach rack system and were electrified at 1500 V DC in stages in 1906 (from Arth to Goldau), 1929 (from Goldau to Rigi Kulm) and in 1937 (from Vitznau to Rigi Kulm).
In the lower station of Vitznau, a train headed by the motor car BDhe 4/4 21 (SLM/BBC 1986).
