SHARK!!!!
This is for Ben, to celebrate his 10th Birthday (I do have candles that spell BEN but I thought they'd spoil the pictures, so I'll leave it for his Mum to add them!)
This cake design is from the totally wonderful Debbie Brown's new book! , gorgeous and gruesome cakes for children (you have GOT to see it - I love it!)...
I was SO thrilled when Angie ordered this for Ben, it was one of the ones I'd fancied having a go at! ... I couldn't resist but put my own twist on it slightly - in the book Debbie suggests adding another row of teeth - so I did, I also added a bent knee and a second hand! - so not much of a change but I had to do it for the sake of it! ... I'm so pleased with the results!
The Sea is brushed with piping gel - I have to say I'm not a fan, I think I'll stick with confectioners glaze - I also added a little of my beloved edible glitter!.
The cake is rich chocolate cake with choc chips and choc-fudge filling ....mmmmm!
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see that in total it took around 3- 3 and a half hours to decorate! - that's quick by my standards!
