BROWNSEA ISLAND, POOLE HARBOUR, DORSET, ENGLAND #9726AB

Photo taken from the ferry on July 23rd, 2010, while on vacation with my wife Theresa.

Brownsea Island is the largest island within Poole harbour. It is the home of the Scout movement which had it's origins in an experimental camp on the island in 1907 held by Lord Robert Baden-Powell (a lieutenant general in the British Army) to test ideas for his book "Scouting for Boys". The following year the Scout movement was formed.
