Starfish fungi (Aseroë rubra)

also known as Anemone stinkhorn,

a fungus looks like flesh and recognizable for its foul odour.

No surprise Aseroe rubra (Latin) is apparently translated as 'disgusting red juice'!

 

This one is found in mulched garden beds in Highfields, Australia.

Done
