Loaded Ubuntu Linux on laptop, & upgraded to "Hoary Hedgehog"

Last night I wiped Win98 off of my laptop again, and installed

Ubuntu's "Warty Warthog" (4.10) release with the intention of

immediately upgrading it to a pre-release version of Ubuntu's "Hoary

Hedgehog" release, due out officially in April or May. It was a

no-sweat install and upgrade for the most part. Last night, after I

did the "Warty" install and began the "Hoary" upgrade, I went to bed,

forgetting that my laptop was running on batteries and not plugged in.

No problem; this morning I plugged the laptop in, booted up, logged

in, and ran the upgrade process again with no trouble.

I did have a little trouble remembering the steps I needed to go

through to get my Wireless Lan card (Linksys WPC54G ver.4) card to

work, but got it working with a little bit of web searching again.

(I'll post the actual process here later for reference in case I need

it again later). Now I'm trying to remember what I had to do before

to get my Palm T3 to sync. For the moment it's not connected. I'll

get there to, and when I do, I'll get that process logged as well.

In the mean time, here's a screen shot of the new desktop (which

updated this afternoon, after I did a second update. I like

it.
