Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business and the Early Days of the Business School

by The Texas Collection, Baylor University

The Baylor University Business School began in 1923, and later became known as the Hankamer School of Business in 1959. Through this set of images, we show the students, equipment, and the construction of the building that Earl C. Hankamer generously gave most of the funds to build.

Having the latest equipment to get the most up-to-date training for the business world is a priority for those going into this field. We have documented many early types of business tools such as many models of typewriters, punched card machines, and computers.

This set of photographs range from Earl C. Hankamer, as a Baylor student in about 1915, to the early 1990s. Through these images, we chronicle some of the vast changes in the business courses and the methods taught at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business. As Baylor prepares to build the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, we're excited to see what new developments in business education and technology take shape.
