Back in 1987, not everyone had a camera in-hand at all times as most do now with either cell phones or the convenience of digital cameras. All photographs had to be taken on film cameras, usually 35mm or less expensive point and shoot models. This was also a time when auto focus lenses were not too common, even on the good-quality models such as Canon or Nikon cameras. Additionally, it took extra time to develop film and rolls usually contained 24 or 36 photographs, unlike the seemingly unlimited amount today in digital photography. Consequently, in order to offer good quality photographs to prospective buyers, companies like Flash Photo would photograph events such as those sponsored by Baylor University or visit campus for photo shoots. This type of photography outside of the studio is known as "Event Photography," where photographers are usually hired or arrange to offer their services.
