Aerial of Downtown Waco and the Liberty Building, c. 1950

This aerial photo from circa 1950 shows the restored Liberty Building (corner of Sixth and Austin Avenue) in the lower center portion of the photograph. Note that across the street from the Alico Building (tallest in picture) stands the R.T. Dennis Furniture store (white color) and to the far right, the Tom Padgitt Building on Austin and Franklin Avenues, respectively. The two latter structures were some of many destroyed in the May 1953 Waco tornado.
