Van Gogh's boots

I'm reading about Existentialism at the moment, and in it is a reference to these boots. And then, just wandering through Waterstones I came across this book, 'Postmodernism; a graphic guide', and where do I happen to open the book? At a page showing the same boots. I'll have to take a photo of that; compare and contrast style etc.
