Turkey FETP_Workshop on “Laboratory Training for Field Epidemiology Program"_2
A 3-day (Jan 18-20) workshop on “Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program” (FELTP) was held in Cappadocia with Twenty-five MoH experts in field epidemiology, early warning and response, and laboratory participated. The Event started with a high-level panel discussion on Integration of laboratory surveillance in “Epidemic Intelligence workforce system”. The panel members discussed on integrating in-country and regional health systems under one unified, rapid service delivery mechanism, with “Field Epidemiology Training Program” (FETP), “Early Warning Response System” (EWRS) and linkage with Laboratory services in adherence to International Health Regulations (IHR). Panelists discussed crosscutting integration of health systems under IHR core requirements, as well as the factors for efficient Health Logistics and Operations. The “Field Epidemiology & Laboratory Training Program” objective is to contribute to a workforce of excellence of highly skilled health professionals to strengthen public health surveillance and improve the quality and integration of laboratory services with epidemiology services in responding to public health threat including outbreaks.
