The logistical challenges Norfolk Southern is dealing with have made for great time-lapse opportunities on the Lurgan Branch. NS 12R sat outside Shippensburg, PA for three days before finally being brought the last 50-odd miles to its destination of Enola Yard. The lead locomotive, NS 8438, is seen here tied down under the constellation Orion Friday night. This was a 20 second exposure; I painted the body of the locomotive with a small flashlight to make it stand out from the dark sky.
