A game of two halves...

Abingdon Road, a main arterial route into Oxford city centre from the south-west, has been closed due to flooding following the extremely wet weather over the New Year period. The road was re-opened on the afternoon of the 13th January as the water finally began to retreat back from the road to the River Thames. Yesterday was the first full day of being open after the flooding, and although the road is clear and traffic is once again moving along it - there's still plenty of standing water about. Allotments, rugby & football pitches, a children's playground, and numerous park benches still remain under a lot of water.
