Sunset Bar
This is the Air Bar at the Interncontinental Koh Samui Resort.
The resort is located on a coastal hillside in Taling Ngam on the west side of Koh Samui (Samui Island), overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. In fact, you cannot drive up to the hotel itself. You park in a lot about 500 meters below the hotel, and then are taken up in a golf cart.
The resort - and especially the bar - is known for its sunset views.
Capturing a sunset is a time sensitive task, as the sun won't wait for you. So, I wandered along the deck, looking for the best shot, when I came across the bar.
I love the silohouttes of the bar tenders and wait staff, with the sun setting in between some bottles on the far end of the bar, the sun also reflecting the green of the bottle of Tanqueray in the foreground.
If you ever find yourself on Koh Samui, I highly recommend stopping in at the Air Bar. You do not have to be a guest (we weren't - this time).
